Jazz musician Johnny Răducanu has passed away this morning at age 79.

He was born in a gypsy family with long tradition in music and became probably one of the most notorious jazz musicians in Romania. He played the piano, bass and has been also a composer. Although speaking quite frank all the time he was very appreciated as a musician abroad. Newspapers around the world wrote about his demise.

Johnny Răducanu also collaborated with Sound Choir in 2000 in a successful concert at that time, alongside Teodora Enache, Alin Constantiu, Pedro Negrescu, Vlad Popescu and of course well-known friend of the choir, pianist Valentin Radu.
